New Direct Corporate Management in China

As of June 1st, we are proud to welcome Mr. He Song as our direct corporate manager in China. Going by Frank, he will be assisting the company with expansion efforts, QC programs, and new product capabilities as we work toward a new permanent office in the region by later 2007. Our expanded in China will us to better serve our client's interest by having an eye and ear at the facility at all times and dispatching select personnel to deal with issues or situations that may arise. This is not a substitution, E.E. URD senior Management are at our China and Taiwan facilities constantly all year long.

New PLED Product Line introduced

Standard TN and STN LCD modules operate on the basic and established principal of using liquid crystal fluid as active medium to create an image. The crystals are suspended in a fluid and sandwiched between two thin sheets of glass. Each glass has a particularly orientated polarizer, offset by 90 degrees, attached to its outer side. When no electric field is applied the incident light orientated to the top polarizer passes through the polarizer and then through the circular arrangement pattern of the dormant LC fluid. This fluid pattern twists the light to now be in the proper orientation to pass through the rear polarizer. To the naked eye the display seems transparent, no light is reflected. Once an electric field is applied the LC crystals orientate themselves to the electric field and light passing through the medium in not twisted and thus cannot pass through the rear polarizer. In this case all the light is reflected back and the display seems black. By etching away the conductive surfaces (those LC molecules therefore remain dormant in those regions), patterns and segments can be obtained. By altering between etching the background or the character pattern away from the conductive surface, negative and positive modes (black on white and white on black) can also be specified.

PLED modules or Polymer light emitting diodes function much differently from conventional LCD displays. The technology is called an emissive technology as light is emitted as a function of its electrical operation.

The product design itself is simple. A thin layer of PLED material is sandwiched between two electrodes that act as the anode and cathode. A voltage potential is created between the electrodes and electrons are injected into the system where they combine in a chemical reaction with the PLED to produce light which is then reflected back to reveal the programmed patterns and characters.

The resulting benefits of this technology are a brighter and clearer display with an enhanced viewing angle at a lower manufacturing cost. The versatility and capabilities of the PLED display also allows for full color video pictures.
